Carson: Steven Gerrard scored the game's only goal and Brian Rowe made four saves to lead the Los Angeles Galaxy to a 1-0 victory over Houston Dynamo on Friday night.
Gerrard scored from the centre of the box in the 66th minute. Baggio Husidic connected with a streaking Robbie Keane on a long feed, but goalkeeper Joe Willis deflected Keane's shot and Gerrard raced in and rolled a right-footer into the lower-right corner of the net.
It was the third goal of the season for Gerrard, who has three assists in the last four matches.
Houston's Giles Barnes got behind the defence for a chance in the 61st, but Rowe came up with the stop to preserve the clean sheet. It was his third consecutive shutout and sixth this season.
Los Angeles (8-3-8) has won three straight and is unbeaten in its last five games.
