Kuwait: Police arrested a Syrian national as he was trying to smuggle 3million amphetamine pills, the Ministry of Interior announced.
Acting on a tip-off, an anti-drugs squad swung into action and arrested 19-year-old Hatem Ahmed Hamad in Jelib Al-Sheyoukh district as he was handling a shipment of ‘air compressors’ containing the pills.
The Drugs Control General Department had received an information about a shipping container arriving in Kuwait with large quantity of narcotics.
The officers searched the cargo and discovered the amphetamine pills which were hidden in the container, reported local Arabic daily Al-Qabas.
