ACROBATIC tricks, circus performances, comedy skits and theatrical acts have been lined up as part of a 10-day carnival taking place at The Avenues – Bahrain.
The third edition of The Avenues Carnival is being organised in collaboration with the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA) and includes acts from all across the world.
Starting today, performers will showcase their talents at the ‘Dome’ and ‘Grand Avenue’ districts at the mall.
Performers include world-famous Australian circus artist, entertainer and showman Richard Filby who will put on a show of high-level juggling, acrobatic balance, tricks involving fire and knives as well as stand-up comedy acts.
Also set to take centre stage is Victor Rubilar, an Argentinian professional football performer and comedian, who is also an official Guinness World Record holder for several feats such as the most football rolls around the face in one minute and the longest distance travelled while balancing a football on the forehead while also setting a new world record of the most consecutive football rolls across the forehead.
Performances will include shows by Italian-based Bubble On Circus displaying innovative theatre concepts, acrobatic performances by Duo Un Pie – acrobatic duo Ivanna Winter and German Cortez – as well as Mr Muffin and Madam Cherry.
In addition, performances will be showcased by juggler and acrobat Mr Tartuffo, Moonlight and Double V.
The carnival continues until August 27.
Meanwhile, winter-themed festival Wadi Skate, also organised by the BTEA, continues at Wadi Al Sail, Riffa.
The event features dazzling ice-skating shows and weekly live musical performances and ends on September 3.
An ideal getaway for families from the scorching sun this summer, the festival offers an indoor ice-skating rink, live music, food stalls and a pop-up market.
Wadi Skate is open on weekdays from noon to 10pm and on weekends from noon until midnight.
