According to reports, Johnny Depp is set to reprise his iconic role of Captain Jack Sparrow in a sixth 'Pirates of the Caribbean' movie.
The UK newspaper 'The Sun' reported that according to a call sheet from the new production, Johnny Depp is scheduled for a test shoot in the UK in February 2023.
Although no director has been roped into the production yet, the working title of the movie has been revealed as "A Day At The Sea".
A source said, “Johnny is set to return as Captain Jack Sparrow and is scheduled to start filming at the beginning of February at a top secret location in the UK.
“Everything is in the early stages and there is still no director attached to the project, which is being called A Day At The Sea.
“Johnny is expected to do a test shoot in early February before the production gets fully underway.
If true, this would be a major reversal on Depp's part, who during his defamation trial against ex-wife Amber Heard stated that he would not be returning to the franchise ever again.
Previously, Disney had stated that a new 'Pirates' movie was going to be made with 'Suicide Squad' actress Margot Robbie set to star in it. But according to Robbie, Disney axed the new movie.
Depp first starred as the swashbuckling buccaneer in 2003 in 'The Curse of the Black Pearl'. His last outing as Captain Sparrow was in 2017's 'Dead Men Tell No Tales'.
