Indian cricketers including Virat, Dhoni and Ajinkya were seen wearing their mothers’ names on their jerseys instead of their own names or father’s surnames in the last match against New Zealand. The decision was part of a campaign where the Indian cricketing heroes play messengers of this ‘Nayi Soch’ (Modern Thinking). The cricketers wanted to acknowledge the fact that one derives one’s identity as much from one’s mother as one’s father.
