Bahrain under-23 football team will play their fourth friendly match in Thailand today when they take on EGY Thai FC at 6pm.
The match is being played as part of the team’s training camp in Bangkok ahead of the 2024 AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers which begin in early September.
A 28-member Bahrain squad, including three goalkeepers, has been in Bangkok for the training camp since late July under the guidance of head coach Dario Basic.
The Bahrain team thrashed local Thai club Prachinburi FC 9-0 in the first match and, later, played out a 1-1 draw against another Thai club. On Sunday, they held the Kuwait U23 side to a goalless draw.
Bahrain are also scheduled to play three U23 teams after today’s match. They play Thailand on Saturday and clash with East Timor the following day, before taking on Vietnam next Tuesday.
Bahrain are scheduled to play three games in the AFC U23 Asian Cup qualifiers, all at home in the kingdom, against Japan, Palestine and Pakistan from September 4 to 12.
