The Bahrain men’s, T20 and U19 cricket teams were honoured at a capping ceremony held on Wednesday at the Mukta A2 Cinemas in Juffair Mall.
The men’s team will travel to Malaysia for the 2024 ICC Cricket World Cup Challenge League Play-offs where they have been drawn in Group B against host Malaysia, Tanzania and Vanuatu.
They will face Vanuatu in the opening fixture on Thursday, before facing Malaysia the next day, and then Tanzania on February 26. The matches will be of 50 overs with the top three qualifying for the Super Six stage of the competition.
As for the T20 team, they will compete at the Malaysia Open T20 Championship 2024, following the conclusion of the World Cup Challenge League Play-offs.
It will be a pentangular affair, with Bahrain facing Kuwait on March 5, host Malaysia on March 7, Tanzania on March 9, and finally Vanuatu on March 10. The top two will qualify for the final on March 11.
Meanwhile, the Under-19 team will head to Thailand for the 2026 ICC U19 Men’s CWC Division 2 Asia Qualifiers, which will be in a 50-overs format, having been drawn in Group A alongside host Thailand, Kuwait and Malaysia.
Bahrain will open their campaign against Thailand on February 25, before facing Malaysia on February 27 and finally Kuwait on February 29. The top two teams will advance to the semi-finals.

U19 team: Muhammad Adil, Abhinav Vashisht, Mohammad Azhar, Rishabh Gautam, Mounish Swamy, Vishwaesh Gurumurthy, Aryan Ashwin, Abdulla Muhammad, Muhammad Akram, Joswin D’Souza, Tayyeb Zahir, Abdur Rahman Khan, Ayan Khan and Ashwanth Sivakumar.
