GCC secretary-general Jasem Albudaiwi is working to renegotiate Schengen visa requirements for Gulf citizens in an effort to exempt them from undergoing the visa process, it has been revealed.
The Schengen visa is a short-stay authorisation issued by any one of the Schengen Area member states, comprising 26 countries.
Negotiations are set to begin during the second week of Ramadan in Brussels, Belgium, in the presence of other leaders of the European Union, it has emerged.
Mr Albudaiwi intends to speak on behalf of the GCC states to achieve visa exemption and is confident of success, reports have said.
