An exciting discovery has been made at the Abraq archaeological site in the Umm Al Quwain region of the United Arab Emirates.
Archaeologists have managed to extract three golden coins, and upon further inspection, have estimated that these artefacts date back to 2,000 years. Additionally, statues have also been located by experts.
Michele Degli Esposti, director of the Italian Archaeologist mission claims that the coins found were circulating in the first century AD, and serve as imitations of coins manufactured in Leon, France under the reign of Emperor Tiberius between 17 and 31 AD.
The site dates back to 2500 BC and is considered one of the UAE's most significant archaeological sites.
