Handball – Bahrain's national handball team will today take on Slovenia in their third and final Group A match of the Olympic Qualification Tournament in Granollers, Spain.
The match is very important for the national team if they are to secure qualification for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. The first criteria is that Bahrain should win by two goals or more along with Brazil losing to Spain.
Spain lead the group standings with four points, followed by Brazil and Slovenia with (two points each) with Bahrain still in search of their first points.
It has been pointed out that, according to the potential in its ranks with the return of the big stars, Bahrain is capable of creating something special against Slovenia, as happened in the Brazil match, which it lost in the dying minutes due to technical errors.
The national team’s Icelandic coach Aaron is counting on the star power of goalkeeper Mohammed Abdul Hussein, and the efforts of Hussain Al Sayyad, Muhammad Habib Nasser, Ali Mirza, Muhammad Mirza, Muhammad Habib, Hassan Al Samahiji, Ahmed Jalal, Hassan Madan, Hassan Mirza and Ali Eid to turn the tide on the Slovenians.
