Croatian football legend and Real Madrid midfielder Luka Modric visited the pyramids yesterday ahead of his country’s match against Egypt.
The teams play in a final fixture of a new series of friendly matches introduced by FIFA, hosted in Egypt, which includes the seven times African Cup champions Egypt, World Cup 2018 runner-up Croatia, 2004 African Cup champions Tunisia and five times OFC Nations Cup winners New Zealand.
Modric posted on his Instagram profile a couple of images at the pyramids with his teammates. The caption read: ‘Exploring Egypt, one of the Seven Wonders of the World’.
Modric told an Egyptian official that he was delighted to visit the site he had heard so much about.
