National Security Adviser and Royal Guard Commander Lieutenant-General Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa has affirmed the importance of holding sports competitions to promote physical fitness during Ramadan.
Shaikh Nasser was speaking during the closing ceremony of the Royal Guard’s Ramadan sports tournament held under his patronage. Present on the occasion was Royal Guard Special Force Commander Colonel Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The competitions included various sports events such as padel, crossfit, tug of war, relay race, and the Royal Guard’s Strongest Man contest.
The event also featured contests including weapons disassembly and assembly in which officers and members of the Royal Guard, the Women’s Guard of the Royal Guard, and children of officers participated.
Among the participants in the competitions were Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Shaikh Hamdan bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
During the closing ceremony, Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser awarded Colonel Shaikh Khalid, captain of the Royal Guard Special Force team, with the Royal Guard Ramadhan Sports Tournament Cup 2024 for winning the first place. The National Security Adviser also honoured the participants in the tournament.
Lt Gen Shaikh Nasser congratulated the winning teams and thanked the organisers of the competitions for their efforts. He also congratulated the participants for their excellent performance and the enthusiasm demonstrated during the competitions.
He also commended the Royal Guard personnel on their readiness and high morale, wishing all teams and participants success in the upcoming sports events.
