Saudi Arabia today urged the international community to stand up to blatant Iranian interference in the internal affairs of other countries in the region, particularly Yemen.
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel bin Ahmed Al-Jubeir voiced his stance at a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, in New York City.
He said that the Iranian arms supplies to Houthi rebels represent a flagrant violation of the UN Security-Council resolutions on Yemen.
He reiterated his country’s firm resolve to work hand in hand with the United Nations to confront mounting regional and international challenges, citing particularly the Middle East peace process and the crises in Yemen and Syria.
Al-Jubeir who arrived yesterday in Washington met senior officials in President Trump’s administration and discussed ways to confront regional challenges.
