A Saudi doctor suspected of affiliation with the Islamic State in Iraq and Syrian is standing trial in the Criminal Court in the City Riyadh.
The Bureau of Investigation and Public Prosecution charged the defendant with travelling to the conflict zones in Syria and treating members of terrorist groups.
The defendant who works also as a university teacher at the college of medicine is accused of supporting and glorifying terrorist organisations, treating their fighters and meeting their leaders and ideologues in Syria.
The inquiry revealed that he had launched a twitter account to promote anti-regime slogans, store pro-terrorists chants and video recordings and facilitate the passage to conflict zones in Syria.
