BAHRAIN’s Gravity Indoor Skydiving’s Two-Way Dynamic team won a silver medal in the four-way speed discipline in the Wind Games 2017 at Windoor tunnel in Spain. The competition attracted 80 of the strongest teams from around the world and they contested in various disciplines including Four-Way Formation Skydiving, Solo Speed races, Solo Freestyle, Two-Way Dynamic and Four-Way Speed.
The performance of the Gravity team members, Ben Roane, world-class coach and champion, and Garth Lewis, Gravity instructor, was recognised amongst various other competing world champions.
Roane also competed in the “Frends4eva”, Four-Way Speed team, which was only put together two days prior to the competition, and consisted of team members Josh O’Donoghue and Luke Warrenn from Windobona wind tunnels, who won a gold medal for two-Way Dynamic, and 13-year-old star of the competition Kyra Poh from iFly Singapore.
The Gravity team was formed in the last quarter of 2016 when Gravity signed with American world champion Roane to represent Gravity and develop a training programme for Gravity instructor Lewis that would prepare them both for their competition as a Two-Way Dynamic team. Gravity’s Business Development Manager Zoe Edwards heads this team and attended the Wind Games 2017 along with general manager Khawla Al Hammadi.
