Sharjah: A young Emirati was caught in Sharjah for breaking traffic rules and regulations and endangering people’s lives.
The police arrested the reckless driver after watching the video which showed the driver performs dangerous stunts to impress people at a relative’s wedding.
To avoid being identified, the driver removed the number plate while performing stunts. He also made unauthorised changes to the car, including the colour, reported Emarat Alyoum.
He was referred to the Public Prosecution to face charges and his car has also been confiscated pending investigation.
Last Thursday, UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum ordered the stunt driver, and two of his companions to clean streets for a month, on the basis of four hours daily after they were caught doing stunts on the streets of Dubai.
The authorities in Dubai intend to enforce the same measure to anyone caught stunt driving.
