Anyone sheltering or employing runaway domestic workers will be jailed for up to six months and will also be fined SR100,000. The Saudi General Directorate for Passports today issued a warning addressed to individuals and companies, urging them to comply with the law.
Expatriate lawbreakers will face deportation, in addition to imprisonment and fine. Companies will be “named and shamed” and banned from hiring foreign workers for 5 years if found guilty.
