Al Hidd won their first match in the AFC Cup Football Tournament by defeating Al Safa of Lebanon 3-1 in their Group “B” match held last night at the Bahrain National Stadium in Isa Town.
In another match of same group, Air Force of Iraq drew with Al Wehda of Syria 1-1.
The Iraqi team lead the group with seven points, followed by Al Wehda of Syira in second place with four points. Al Hidd placed third with three points, while Al Safa of Lebanon placed fourth with two points.
The first half ended 2-1 with Nigerians Daeo and Uche Ogba scoring the goals for Al Hidd in the 11th and 32nd minutes, respectively. Al Safa reduced the margin to 2-1 with a goal scored in the 33rd minute scored by Standly Echabi of Cameroon.
Al Hidd secured the victory with a third goal scored by Daeo.
