Nakheel, one of the world's leading developers, has floated tenders for the piling works at a Dh900 million ($245 million) hotels and resorts project being developed by Spanish group Riu at Deira Islands in Dubai, UAE.
Riu Hotels & Resorts is a 800-room property being jointly developed by Nakheel at Dubai’s Deira Islands.
The JV partners have already signed up international consultants Dar Al Handasah to oversee design, engineering and construction supervision of resort – the first all-inclusive 4-star concept in Dubai and RIU’s first property in the GCC, said Nakheel in a statement.
The tender covers the piling works at the hotel and resorts project coming up on a built up area of 63,000 sq area, said a statement from Nakheel.
Set on a 3.4 million sq ft plot at Deira Islands, the sprawling resort – one of the biggest in Dubai in terms of rooms – will boast four swimming pools, a kids’ club, spa and fitness centre.
Dining facilities include an all-day restaurant, a speciality restaurant, four beach eateries and an evening dining area with a stage for live shows and entertainment. There will also be a waterpark occupying 10 per cent of the overall area, said the statement.
The Dubai developer had earlier said it plans to complete the project in the third quarter of 2019.
The tender documents are available for a fee of Dh5,000 ($1,367). The last date for submission is April 2, it added.-TradeArabia News Service
