An Emirati national will have to clean the streets and public places in Abu Dhabi for three months for stunt driving during rainy weather, according to Al Bayan.
An Abu Dhabi court, which convicted the stunt driver, fined him Dhs17,000 and ordered the revocation of his licence for three months.
The public prosecution charged him with reckless conduct, endangering people’s lives and driving a car without number plates.
This is the first time the Abu Dhabi courts have sentenced a convicted stunt driver to community service instead of jailing him for up to six months, apart from the fine.
A video recording posted on the judicial department portal showed the reckless driver who almost ran over a group of onlookers.
