Passengers travelling to the US on Qatar Airways flights will be lent laptops by the airlines for use during their journey.
Qatar Airways Chief Executive Officer Akbar Al-Baker announced the new measure which will take effect next week.
The laptop loan service followed the ban imposed by President Trump’s administration on carrying electronics aboard flights to the US from certain airports in the Middle East.
"Qatar Airways has bought laptops which will be put at the disposal of passengers so that they can continue their work during the trip," he said.
He said that the laptop loan service to US-bound passengers aims to provide best solutions for passengers and ensure them uninterrupted work.
Passengers will be supplied with laptops as soon as they board the US-bound plane.
They will be required to hand over their own electronic devices at the departure gates before boarding the plane. Qatar Airways staff will then pack the devices and register them as normal luggage before handing them back to passengers on arrival at the US airports.
