SIX feature races in a card of seven are the highlights of today’s horse racing in Sakhir.
Celtic Man, owned by Ramadhan Stable, trained by Jaber Ramadhan and to be ridden by Brett Doyle, is tipped to win the Silver Cup, sponsored by Rashid Equestrian and Hoserracing Club, which carries a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,200 metres, staring at 5.15pm.
Dutch Masterpiece and Best Dressed are the second and third favourites respectively.
Wayne Looney, owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Abdulla Faisal, is tipped to win the National Guard Cup for locally bred horses which carries a cash prize of BD3,000 and to be run over 1,600 metres, starting at 4.50pm.
No Doubt and Shamikh are the second and third favourites respectively.
Action
The day’s action starts at 2.45pm with the race for the Shaikh Abdulla bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup for locally bred horse which carries a cash prize of BD2,000.
Setting Sun, owned by Al Nasseriyeh, trained by Alan Smith and to be ridden by Abdulla Faisal, is the favourite to win this race ahead of its nearest challengers Jadeel and Mayyas.
