Doha: The 17th edition of the Doha Forum will open on Sunday (May14) under the theme "Development, Stability and Refugee Crisis".
The two-day symposium will be held under the auspices of the Amir of Qatar Shaikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
“The focus will be on current international political developments, economic challenges, investment, oil and gas issues and refugees”, said Organising Committee Chief Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi.
Foreign Minister Shaikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani address the opening session, themed International Cooperation and the Importance of Political and Economic Stability."
Other plenary sessions will address the political and economic impact of refugee crisis as well as future development and stability.
The 2017 edition sought to combine political, economic and academic aspects, and bring together many decision-makers, thinkers and civil society organizations.
The forum has attracted more than 600 participants – of whom about 400 are from outside Qatar, including heads of state and governments, in addition to ministers of foreign affairs, economy and investment.
