MANAMA: Bahrain Superbike Championship (BSBK) has launched the first motorcycle academy focussed on providing basic, intermediate and advanced skills to participants.
The first two day-long training camps were held this month at the Bahrain International Circuit with more planned in the near future.
The event catered to various levels of skills in a closed and safe environment.
The training was conducted by Hussain AlKooheji, who is a five time superbike champion, and world-renowned and certified coach.
"It’s never too early or too late to start learning and no matter how much you know there is always scope to improve," said Mr AlKooheji.
"We have made it a point to have courses available for all types of skill levels and different purposes, serving people who intend to use motorbikes on track or off track."
He said the aim of the BSBK Academy is to facilitate and impart affordable and reputed professional motorbike training to everybody.
It has a variety courses with varied levels of training to offer bikers to match their present-day skills
"So whether you have or have not ridden a bike, if you are a racer or just appreciate riding motorcycles - there's something for everyone," he added.
A training bike is included in the registration fee and for beginners, there is no license required.
BSBK is the region's first one-make race series, in which competitions from all over the world get to compete on similar motorbikes, with access to change only basic settings.
The championship is an arrive and ride activity bringing together contestants from over 12 countries.
"It is truly a unique concept around the world and has been recognised for its promotion of the country, track and the sport in the region," said Mr AlKooheji.
