Kuwaiti authorities will start levying health fees within the next two days on foreigners visiting the country.
Under the new legislation, expatriates living the country will also have to pay nominal health taxes.
Health Minister Dr. Jamal Al-Harbi announced the enforcement of the health levies as he was taking part in a blood donation campaign.
The minister has also issued an edict exempting non-Kuwaiti cancer patients below the age of 12 from the health fees, which include diagnosis, therapies and medication.
The lifeline will only apply to patients who have a valid residence permit, on the condition that the disease is diagnosed in Kuwait.
