A number of infrastructure and developmental projects have been launched in the UAE's East Zone by Dr Abdullah bin Mohammed Belhaif Al Nuaimi, Minister of Infrastructure Development, a Wam news agency report said.
The projects include a scheme to develop a network of roads linking the East Coast cities through the Khorfakan West Ring Road at a cost of Dh150 million ($40.84 million). The minister also opened the road linking Sheikh Khalifa Highway in Fujairah and Khatam Malaha as well as E99, or the East Coast Road.
The minister underlined the importance of all parties to execute projects in alignment with best international standards and practices.
