SOUTH Sehla Youth Centre outplayed Shakhoora Youth Centre 6-2 on the last day of the preliminary round of the Khalid bin Hamad League for Youth Centres, People with Disabilities and Girls (Khalid 5) at Khalifa Sports City Hall.
In other matches, Aali Club beat Al Qadisiya 4-2, Sanad routed Busaiteen 4-1 to remain on top of the group with 11 points and North Sehla edged out Sanabis 2-1.
Sayed Alawi of South Sehla, Sayed Baqer of Aali, Ali Abdulaziz of Sanad and Hassan Shaker of North Sehla won the player of the match awards.
Former national team players Khamees Eid and Khalid Taj watched some of the matches on Thursday and praised Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, first deputy president of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports and honourary president of Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities, for patronising the event for the fifth successive year.
Khalid 5 is being jointly organised for the fifth consecutive year by Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs and Media Office of Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa under the slogan #Generations_Meeting and will continue till September 14 with 59 teams representing youth centres, local clubs and people with disabilities in the fray.
