A Kuwaiti national sentenced to 90 years in prison in absentia has been arrested, according to Alqabas newspaper.
The fugitive, who was convicted in a string of drug cases, was apprehended in Mubarak Al-Kabeer after a fierce chase.
The convict resisted arrest and shot at police units which managed in the end to subdue him.
Deputy Premier and Interior Minister Shaikh Khalid Al Jarrah Al Sabah had issued directives to track down fugitive convicts and bring them to serve their jail terms.
