BAHRAIN suffered another setback yesterday at the fifth Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Ashgabat, Turkmenistan.
Juwana Mohamed lost 10-27 to Vietnam’s Thi Nguyen Ha in the women’s under-62kg round of 16.
It was an emotional moment for the 17-year-old following her elder sister Jumana’s exit in the women’s under-73kg section on Tuesday.
Jumana went down fighting to Filipino Kirstl Alora 10-17 in the quarter-finals.
Bahrain currently have a gold and bronze won by Ali Munfaredi and Ahmed Shebeeb respectively on Monday.

Walaa Al Doseri – Bahrain’s last hope in this discipline – heads into her opening women’s under-57-kg bout today against Chimi Dolma of Bhutan at 7.30am (Bahrain time).
The Bahrainis are coached by Tawfeeq Nuwaiser of Jordan.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Royal Equestrian and Endurance Federation president and chef de mission Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa met Olympic Council of Asia president Shaikh Ahmed Al Fahad Al Sabah.
Both sides discussed the success of the on going games in Turkmenistan.
Meanwhile, Bahrain Olympic Committee general secretary Abdulrahman Askar attended the Olympic Council of Asia meetings held on the sidelines of the games.
Shaikh Ahmed chaired the meeting and commended the efforts of Ashgabat for the success of the games and termed the opening ceremony as “outstanding”.
Members also reviewed the preparations being made for organising the 18th Asian Games in Jakarta and the following edition in 2022 in Hangzhou China.
