A group of Kuwaiti National Assembly members called for annual taxes expatriates’ driving licences and the cleanliness of public places.
Mp. Khalid Al-Otaibi urged the Kuwaiti authorities to levy KD 1200 per annual on all types of driving licences held by expatriates.
Kuwait has already started implementing the new health insurance scheme on expatriates, imposing fees on a wide range of medical services.
In this same line MP Nayef Al-Merdass to scrutinise all expatriates’ driving licences before renewing them. A former Interior Ministry official had claimed that up to 30,000 driving licences are forged.
MP. Saleh Ashoor joined the crusade calling on the authorities to deduct a fee from expatriates’ salaries to pay for public cleanliness services.
