Bahrain rider Ahmed Mansoor won third place in the individual event of the World Military Showjumping Championship held in France.
Mansoor also teamed up with fellow Bahrainis Khalid Hilal Al Khatiri and Saber Salman Faraj to claim third place in the team event.
France came first, Brazil second, Morocco fourth, Spain fifth, the Netherlands sixth, Uruguay seventh, Tunisia eight, and Kuwait ninth.
Lieutenant-Colonel Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Commander of the Royal Guard, and Honourary President of the Bahrain Equestrian and Endurance Federation (BREEF), praised the achievement of the Bahrain team, saying iy was a result of the great support extended by His Majesty King Hamad to the sports movement in the Kingdom, especially the equestrian sport.
“The participants who took part in the World Championship are some of the Kingdom’s finest and have demonstrated great and impressive levels in their path towards victory,” Shaikh Nasser said.
Team leader Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa expressed his thanks and appreciation to Field Marshall Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force, Shaikh Nasser and Lieutenant-General Dhiyab bin Saqr Al Nuaimi, Chief of Staff, for their support of the team.
