The GEW is a global annual celebration of innovators and job creators who have launched start-ups that bring ideas to life while driving economic growth and expanding human welfare.

More than 30 events will be held in Bahrain in celebration of this year’s edition of the event starting Saturday until November 20.

The labour fund authority’s chief executive Dr Ebrahim Janahi said, “One of Tamkeen’s key objectives is to nurture the entrepreneurship environment within Bahrain by supporting individuals and developing their skills starting throughout different stages, from the time they are students encouraging them to enter the entrepreneurship field as an alternative career option.”

“Tamkeen offers a wide range of support initiatives serving businesses and individuals with the aim of helping people to unleash their creative ideas into businesses and contribute to shaping the local and global entrepreneurship ecosystem.

“As the world is marking the 10th anniversary of this international event, our celebration of the GEW emphasises the leading role of the kingdom in different international events and initiatives aimed at boosting economic development and entrepreneurship.”

The events and activities will include workshops, lectures, forums as well as competitions among other events that will feature Bahrain’s celebration of GEW.

The GEW celebrations in Bahrain will also host local and international entrepreneurs and experts to speak about their experiences and share their knowledge and latest updates in this field.

Tamkeen will celebrate GEW in partnership with more than 20 public and private organisations, and the event will attract more than 1,500 participants representing entrepreneurs, small and medium size businesses as well as home business in different economic sectors.
