Traffic fatalities continue to take a heavy human and material toll in Saudi Arabia, leaving thousands of people dead and wounded.
According to statistics released by the Ministry of Transportation, road accidents claimed the lives of 1,864 people in ten months in Saudi Arabia.
The traffic authorities surveyed 13,276 accidents over the past ten months, ending October 31, Almowaten reported.
A total of 145 people were killed last month, dropping by 15 per cent compared with last September which witnessed 170 traffic fatalities.
Traffic accidents on highways caused the death of 426 people across Saudi Arabia.
The statistics, which were compiled over the past ten months, revealed that traffic accidents had left 11,441 people wounded. The number of injured people soared to 959 last month up from 903 in September.
