TWELVE planes have so far been designated to take supporters of Bahrain’s football team to Kuwait on Tuesday for the semi-finals of the Gulf Cup 2017.
The decision came following directives from Personal Representative of His Majesty for Charity and Youth Affairs, Supreme Council for Youth and Sports chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee president Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
Youth and Sports Affairs Minister Hisham Al Jowder last night announced that 10 companies had come forward to sponsor the flights for football fans.
They are Bahrain Petroleum Company (a large aircraft), National Bank of Bahrain (two planes), Kuwait Finance House (a large plane), Bahrain Aluminum Company, Bahrain National Gas Company, Viva Bahrain, Zain Bahrain, Bank of Bahrain and Kuwait, Gulf Petrochemicals Company and GFH Financial Group (one aircraft each).
The Youth and Sport Affairs Ministry said it would announce the details of registration for spectators later.
