Riyadh: The Saudi Embassy to Male issued an advisory urging compatriots to be vigilant in light of latest developments in the country.
The advisory called upon Saudi nationals in the Maldives to contact the embassy in case of emergency.
The president of the Maldives Abdulla Yameen declared a fifteen-day state of emergency on Monday night, suspending a host of political and constitutional rights in a deepening showdown with the country’s supreme court.
Former president of the Maldives Maumoon Abdul Gayoom has also been arrested.
