KHADIJA Mouza scored a hard-fought 7-5, 7-5 victory over Trisha Ashok yesterday in the girls under-14 singles of the 23rd BBK Junior Open Tennis Championship at Bahrain Tennis Club in Juffair.

In the only other close match, Madsion Mordecal beat Saba Ebrahim 6-3, 6-4.

In other matches, Eira Corral routed Celin Ghattas 6-0, 6-0 and Renali Senaratne tamed Lina Temzini 6-2, 6-2.

All other matches in this section were walk-overs.

In the boys under-14 section, Erwin Godinho proved too good for Sulaiman Al Gosaibi 6-2, 6-1.
