IGOR Belousov and Ivana Kolaric yesterday clinched deserving victories in the Spartan Sprint races, part of the 2018 Bahrain Sports Day scheduled for Tuesday.
The second and concluding day of the 2018 Spartan Race was staged at Bahrain International Circuit in Sakhir with thousands of athletes in fray.
In the Elite Sprint category, Russia’s Belousov came on top in 23 minutes and 35 seconds. Behind him were UAE-based Hallvard Borsheim (23:48) in second place and Germany’s Charles Franzke (23:55) third.
In the women’s section, Ivana Kolaric of the UAE won the race in 33 minutes and 22.47 seconds. She was followed by French runners Angelique Cheaneau (34:09.37) and Sandra Chetaneau (36:10) in second and third places respectively.
There were 11 age groups races for amateurs. Roenya Boshoff (43:54) of Kuwait took the 14-17 title. In the 18-24 category, Jood Al Ansari of Kuwait (46:14) was the winner.
The 25-29 race saw Emilia Vandrey (50:03) of Bahrain emerge victorious, Ilaria Torta (41:14) of the UAE topped the 30-39 race while Tina Ormuz (41:17) of the UAE was victorious in the 40-49 race.

In the men’s section, Marton Cserepes (36:01) of Hungary raced to victory in the 14-17 age category, David Voye (45-17) topped the 18-24 race, the 25-29 race was won by George Crewe (31:30) of the UAE, Florent Blaison (32:12) of France bagged the 30-39 race, Bahrain-based Bryan Harris (36:25) topped the 40-49 race and Bahraini Salah Abdulla (40:57) raced to victory in the 50+ category race.
