MUHARRAQ Club ended their campaign on a high note in the volleyball tournament, part of the Arab Women Sports Tournament (AWST) being held in Sharjah.
The Bahrainis picked up two straight victories over Sohar of Oman and Kuwait Girls Club to finish the tournament in fourth place.
After losing their first three matches to UAE clubs Al Wasl and Sharjah, and later to the Moroccan champions, which ended their podium chances, Muharraq were hoping to compensate in their remaining two matches, which they deservedly won with some superior performances.
Muharraq beat Sohar Club 25-17, 25-20, 25-15 and got the better of Kuwait Girls Club 25-16, 25-11, 25-16.
Leading Muharraq Club to victories were playmaker Dalal Jassim, Hajer Al Ansari, Hessa Al Isa, Jomana Asad, Aysha Al Sabery and Bayan Nasser.
Meanwhile, the tournament comes to an end today with a closing ceremony at Sharjah Ladies Club Hall.
