Kuwait City: Interpol is tracking down a Lebanese man and his Syrian wife in connection with the death of a Filipina maid in Kuwait.
The Lebanese security agencies are co-operating with the Interpol to find out the whereabouts of Nader Essam Assaf and Mona Hassoun, who are believed to be in Syria.
Lebanese Attorney General Samir Hammoud said that he has received an Interpol notice regarding the fugitive couple who are suspected of causing the death of Joanna Daniela Demafelis.
The body of the 29-year-old expatriate Filipina was discovered stuffed in a freezer.
It is believed that the body remained in the freezer for up to 16 months, ever since the couple left Kuwait to evade police arrest.
According to Al Rai newspaper, a post-mortem conducted on the body revealed that the Filipina had been tortured and then strangled to death.
