First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association, and Honourary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa crowned the winners of the Strongest Man Championship, which concluded yesterday.
Emad Al Qaffas claimed the Bahraini Strongest Man honours after topping the heavyweight competition. Salman Salim Abdulla and Ali Aarif Al Sayed finished second and third, respectively.
Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa won first place in the average weigh competition won, while Ahmed Mohammed Taha settled for second place, and Shaheen Mohammed AlboAeneen finished third.
Shaikh Khalid also hailed Chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Royal Charity Organisation Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa for watching competitions in the lightweight and heavyweight categories.
Also present were Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman Al Khalifa, the son of His Highness the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and a number of the Royal Family and sport officials.
Shaikh Khalid walked side by side with Chairman of Eastern Riffa Cultural and Sports Club Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa during his participation in the average weigh competition to show his support.
