The 2017/2018 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship roars back onto the strip this week at Bahrain International Circuit (BIC).
Action is set to be hotter than ever with the final two meetings of the season taking place over back-to-back weekends in Sakhir.
First up from today to Friday is the fourth and penultimate round of the racing year.
Drag racers from all over the Gulf including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, the UAE and Bahrain, plus a number from across the globe, are expected to compete.
Action kickstarts today and tomorrow with Test and Tune, starting from 6pm both days. Qualifying is then scheduled to take place on Thursday evening, setting the stage for Friday’s Race Day programme. Racing will be held from 4pm on the last two days.
All are welcome to attend. Tickets are available at the gate.
Tickets to each night of Test and Tune are BD2 each while tickets for Qualifying and Race Day are BD5 for the Start Line Grandstand and BD3 for the Batelco Grandstand. Children age from three to 12 years old can attend for half the price.
The drag racers will be battling it out in a total of 16 categories.
The 12 cars classes include the Outlaw FWD, the Super Street 6 Cylinder, Street V8, Outlaw 10.5, Street 4 and 6, Outlaw 6-Cylinder, Super Street V8, Competition 4.5, Pro Mod, the Index 10.5, the Index 9.5a and the Index 8.5 category.
The four motorbikes classes are the Pro Bike category, the Street Bike, the Super Street Bike and the Street Fight Bike 9.50.
Following this week’s fourth round, the fifth and final meeting of the season is scheduled for next week from March 6 to 9.
