Riyadh – The Saudi Royal air defences intercepted a missile fired by the Iran-backed Houthi rebels against Saudi Arabia.
The missile which was launched from the Yemeni territories was destroyed at 5:05 pm as it was heading towards the Southern city of Jazan.
The Saudi air defences intercepted over the past days two missiles targeting the province of Jazan and two others which were heading to Riyadh and Najran.
Saudi-led coalition official spokesman Colonel Turki Al-Malki said the missile, which was launched from the governorate of Sa’ada in Yemen, confirmed the Iranian involvement in backing the Houthi rebels to target civilian-populated areas in Saudi Arabia.
