The first month-long joint Gulf Shield military drill will conclude tomorrow (April 16) in the Eastern Province, in Saudi Arabia, Arab News reported.
Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud will patronise the final ceremony, in the presence of several Arab leaders taking part in the 29th Arab Summit in the city of Dhahran.
The first edition of the massive military drill - Gulf Shield-1 - is organised by the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Defence with participants from the land, air and naval forces of 24 countries.
The drills consisted of conventional military operations which included coastal defence against the enemy, in addition to the irregular war operations carried out by besieging and penetrating villages and industrial installations so as to cleanse them of hostile elements.
The military exercise is considered one of the largest in the region, both in terms of the number of participating countries and the quality of its weapons.
