Bruno Malfacine, who currently competes in the flyweight division of Brave Combat Federation, will take part in the 2018 World Jiu-Jitsu IBJJF Championship at Walter Pyramid, CSU Long Beach in the US from May 30 to June 3.
Malfacine is a nine-time world champion in jiu-jitsu. He signed with Brave Combat Federation this year and competed in Brave 11 held in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
He notched his first victory with the Bahrain-based global mixed martial arts promotion after beating Rafael Pereira in the flyweight division by an armbar in the very first round.
Malfacine is one of the greatest competitors in the history of jiu-jitsu, winning nine IBJJF World Championship gold medals, four IBJJF Pan American titles, and surpassing the world championships gold medal record established by Omar Salum in 2000.
