Sanjay Dutt is someone whose entire life has played out in media headlines and one might feel that they know a lot about his life so watching a movie about his trials and tribulations is likely to be a pointless exercise. This is the notion that this trailer breaks. There are parts to Sanjay Dutt that we do not know. We do not know why he did the things he did and what the consequences were for him as a person.
The movie also gives Ranbir Kapoor to showcase yet another facet of his acting skills and is immensely watchable. The others in the cast include the stellar Vikas Kaushal, veterans Paresh Rawal and Boman Irani, Manisha Koirala, Diya Mirza, Sonam Kapoor and Anushka Sharma among others.
Apart from Ranbir, there is Raju Hirani who we have learnt can serve up the most mundane/ridiculous story with a such a flair that it makes watching his movies a joyful experience. And he seems to have worked his magic here as well.
While the movie might be a chance at redemption for Sanjay Dutt, it could also offer redemption to Ranbir Kapoor who despite (one must admit) his immense talent and diversity have not had luck at the box office.
The trailer left us hankering for more and we believe it will do the same for you - irrespective of whether you like Sanjay Dutt as a person or an actor or believe that he is a terrorist or not.
