Some UAE nationals have reportedly been denied entry into Georgia, Emarat Alyoum reported.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Co-operation said that it’s monitoring the cases of the Emirati citizens, who were mistreated at Georgian airports and forced to return to the UAE.
In a statement, the ministry announced that it is following up the issue in co-ordination with the UAE Embassy in Tbilisi to provide all care and services to Emirati citizens during their stay in Georgia.
It urged UAE nationals to register on the ministry’s portal “Tawajudi” to get updated travel advisories and tips and report any emergencies.
The ministry made the statement after citizens took to social media to warn against travelling to Georgia, claiming that some Emirati families had not been treated adequately by airport customs employees.
They claimed that some families were denied entry and forced to return to the UAE although they had hotel bookings, health insurance and cleared entry procedures.
