Al Naser Club managed to hold A’ali Club to a goalless draw in a Group 3 match of the sixth Khalid bin Hamad Futsal League at Khalifa Sports City.
Both teams’ players succeeded in defending their goals valiantly to maintain a clean sheet. A’ali Club had the upper hand throughout the game, but they several missed several scoring opportunities and will have to be content with one point in addition to the player of the match award which went to Mohammed Abdullah.
Saar Club crushed Nuwaidrat Club 9-0 in another Group 3 match. Hussain Hameed, who scored two goals, was named the man of the match.
Samaheej Club opened their campaign in the legue with a precious 3-0 win in Group 4. Ali Hussain, who scored Samaheej Club’s second goal, was named the man of the match.
In the last match on Wednesday, Mustafa Yaqoub inspired Dar Kulaib to a 7-2 victory over Muqabah Club in Group 4. Yaqoub won the man of the match award after finding the net on six occasions.
A large number of prominent personalities have been watch the games in the league which is being held under patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports first deputy chairman, Bahrain Athletics Association president and Bahrain Sports Federation for Disabilities honorary president Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The event, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in partnership with Shaikh Khalid’s Media Office, runs until August 9. The league is part of Shaikh Khalid’s initiatives to support Bahraini youth in sports and humanitarian fields.
The league was visited by Halat Al-Naim and Al-Salta Youth Centre chairman Rashid Juma Al-Nuaimi and its treasurer Abdulla Rabea Al Shaikh, A’ali Club president Hussain Al Aali, Al Naser Club president Abdulamir Attiyah Jassim, Nabih Saleh Club president Sadiq Ahmed Darwish, Smaheej Club president Mohamed Ibrahim Hassan, former international players Bader Sawar and Ghazi Al Kuwari and national coach Ali Ashour.
Al Aali said, “The initiatives of Shaikh Khalid cover all segments of society, including various bodies and official events in the kingdom.” He asserted that its success over the past years proves its vitality, especially with its positive impact on clubs, youth centres and national teams.
