Najran: A Saudi national last night shot dead a colleague at Al-Wadea passports and customs crossborder point in the province of Najran.
Another colleague was wounded before the culprit attempted to flee the crime scene in the governorate of Sharoora.
The runaway suspect, aged 34, clashed with a road security patrol about 80 kilometres away from the crime scene.
He killed policeman Ibrahim bin Hussain Al-Hashlan and injured two others in the clash before he was finally gunned down.
The initial police investigation revealed that the man shot his colleague with his official firearm due to a dispute relating to his absence from work.
