Abu Dhabi: The UAE President Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al-Nahyan has conferred the Zayed Medal on Chinese President Xi Jinping, who is on a three-day official visit to Abu Dhabi.
Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and UAE Armed Forces Deputy Supreme Commander Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan decorated the Chinese president with the prestigious medal, the highest UAE decoration granted to kings, presidents and state leaders.
UAE Vice President, Prime Minister and Dubai Ruler Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al-Maktoum attended the ceremony.
The Chinese President signed several copies of the Arabic translation of his book, 'The Governance of China' and presented them to Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid and and Shaikh Mohamed bin Zayed.
The Abu Dhabi Crown Prince presented a five-year-old purebred Arabian horse to President Xi, in honour of his state visit to the UAE and as a token of the close friendship and bonds between their countries.
