SHAIKH Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa yesterday raced to victory in the Sweden Endurance Race and attributed his success to His Majesty the King’s full support to sports in Bahrain, especially the endurance sport.
Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, chairman of Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, president of Bahrain Olympic Committee and captain of Bahrain Royal Endurance Team also congratulated His Majesty, adding that achieving such feats are not possible without the support and sponsorship of His Majesty.
“We dedicate this victory to His Majesty, HRH Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, the Prime Minister, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister. I’m very happy with the victory of Shaikh Khalid on his return to endurance sport,” said Shaikh.
“Such victories give us strength to continue towards accomplishing further success.”
On his part, Shaikh Khalid thanked His Majesty for his continues encouragement and support.
The Bahrain Royal Endurance Team dominated yesterday’s race, winning the top four places.
Shaikh Khalid won the event in six hours, 21 minutes and 56 seconds. Behind him were his teammates Al Muqdad Janahi and Mohammed Al Khateri in second and third places respectively.
Another Bahraini rider Salman Radhi was fourth.
Shaikh Nasser finished second in the first round of the race but had to pull out due to an injury to his horse.
